Matthew will be joining the chamber music faculty at Play Week Maryland, a summer program that has been running for over 30 years! This year's program will conveniently take place at Washington College, and Matthew will be coaching numerous ensembles and repertoire ranging from Beethoven to Faure.

In his 5th year as a piano faculty member at MPF, Matthew will also be directing the Collaborative Piano program, in addition to performing with world-class faculty from leading orchestras and conservatories.

After his debut at the Mann Center for La La Land in Concert, Matthew returns to perform the full score of Grease with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Join baritone, Jean Bernard Cerin, cellist, Eve Miller, and Matthew in a "Live Activation" as they fuse music with a visual art installation in a stunning National Historic Landmark synagogue designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The program explores music with Creole roots from Haiti, Louisiana, and beyond, in collaboration with artist and University of Pennsylvania Professor David Hartt.  

Matthew will collaborate with students at Washington College who were selected by audition for this opportunity to showcase their talent!

Matthew will be collaborating with sopranos Sylvia Stoner and Anne Jennifer Nash and mezzo-soprano Sharon Campbell to present scenes from Sister - Show Me Eternity, written in a new music theater genre that weaves art songs together into a larger narrative based on Emily Dickenson's life.

Matthew will be giving a lecture for Colgate University's German Department on German Lieder, including significant composers and examples of their works and how they shaped the art song genre.

Matthew is excited to be joining the esteemed faculty of this summer’s Collaborative Piano Institute at Louisiana State University, which will take place online due to COVID-19. Matthew will be traveling to Reykjavík to co-present a paper with Didem Uca entitled “Little Women and Mansplaining: Mignon’s Ventriloquist Act”.

6-wire will kick off the Master Players Concert Series' new Midsummer Night Soirees series at the University of Delaware. The band will perform new compositions and feature the return of tabla virtuoso Sandeep Das, member of the Silk Road Ensemble.
